Straw Blowing

Straw blowing puts an even mulch layer over large seeded areas in a fraction of the time hand spreading takes. It shades the soil, slows evaporation and cushions raindrop impact so seed stays put.

   Area is seeded and fertilized before mulching.

   Blow straw

   Straw is blown to a uniform depth across the full area.

   Tack it down

   Tackifier or crimping keeps straw in place through wind and rain.

Straw covers big areas economically; hydromulch bonds tighter on slopes. We often combine both.

Will straw bring weeds?

We use clean, certified weed-free straw whenever it is available for the job.
